Joining me shortly as Sean Coyne, he is the creator of StoryGrid, the author of the book StoryGrid, and an editor with over 25 years experience.

In this episode, I bring a struggle to Sean that I've really been going through with my writing

of what projects should I work on next and feeling all kinds of resistance around the different

projects I want to work on. And I kind of bring

it to him to get his perspective on it, to think about what I should be doing next. I only have

so much time to write in so many days I can write. And I want to make sure I'm putting it on the

right project. And so I bring this to him a little sheepishly because I didn't do

my homework, but also to get his perspective on where I should be putting my time next. So for those of

you that have ever struggled with what projects you should be working on and what you should be

writing, I think you'll get a lot out of this. So let's jump in and get started.

So Sean, I have to admit that I did not read the book that you told me to read. So shame on you.

I know, I know. It's so anyway, won't get into that side of my life. But yeah, it's,

so I've had a few people that have read the threshing now, because I got some early copies.

And I guess this is a good sign, but the first thing, two of the three have said, has been, when can I read the next one?

So I hate, I actually have a new personal rule where I do not start a series unless it's

already done because, you know, I've been caught so many times in this purgatory of waiting

for the next book. And I'm looking at you, Patrick Rolfus, who's never going to ever finish

the third book in his series.

And I hate that.

And so then I got to thinking, I'm like, is this new book idea just a distraction from, like, I have no current timeline plans to write the next book?
