Jay Willis knows how you might be feeling this week.

It's the start of another Supreme Court term, and if you're like him, you're thinking,

these guys again?

I mean, yeah, I think for people anywhere on the left side of the political spectrum,

there's no such thing really as like a good Supreme Court term or a Supreme Court win.

It's only just like how much do you lose, and how quickly.

Jay edits a site called Balls and Strikes.

His whole job is to chronicle what the nine justices are up to.

For a progressive like him, he says, the thing to know is that this term is going to be

a little harder to explain than usual.

There is not a case it's going to upend the right to abortion or take down a president's

student debt relief plan.

This term does look a little less flashy, but that is not to say that this term is any

less important or that the potential for harm this term is any less likely.

It just means that the conservative supermajority is sort of going about this work in a different

way that is going to attract less public attention and less media attention.

first week.

Tuesday, justice is here arguments in a case that seeks to eliminate an entire government

agency, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Conservative activists are hoping that like Republicans in Congress who are eager to slash

spending, the Supremes will feel fine.
