On this Friday Buckeye Talk episode, it's the third installment of the top 25 Most Influential Ohio State football players for the 2022 season. Doug Lesmerises, Nathan Baird and Stephen Means previously covered players 25 through 17, and players 16 through 11, in two earlier episodes. Now it's players 10 through five, and it's heavy on young guys. Five of the six players discussed in this episode are second-year Buckeyes from the 2021 recruiting class. Hey, hey, where you been, but got talk is about to begin, hey, hey, hey, come on in.

0:25.6

Welcome back to your Friday book. I talk to Doug Lentner, he's here to see the means and the influential

0:30.0

luck guys for the 2022 football season. This is the list we put together our votes, texture votes,

0:37.2

how valuable are you? How special are you? How beloved are you? We've been running through the top

0:42.8

25 book guys. We've done two episodes so far and we are now into the top 10. So guys, this is the

0:48.7

threshold. We're going to do numbers 10 through 5 today. This was an overall 50 point rating. If you

0:57.0

got the max points you could get from everybody, you would get 50. These players are between 40 points,

1:04.6

40 exactly is 10th and 43.33 is 5th. So those are the six guys we're going to talk about. And then

1:13.8

the number four guy is 45.8. So that's a little bit of a jump. It just sort of as with it worked

1:20.6

out by luck that we sort of have very clear lines. Numbers 25 through 17. That was nine players

1:28.6

who were between 30 and 35. Then we hit number 16 through 11. That was six players between 35 and 40.

1:37.5

And now here we are we're doing between 40 and 45 and Nathan. This is the threshold which I think

1:43.1

has been a valuable guide for us. Generally speaking, when you did this rating, you thought these guys

1:50.2

were like pretty solid all American candidates. That's their potential. That's their upside. That's

1:58.3

the discussion point around these six guys, correct? Exactly. Yeah. And there was a difference. Again,

2:06.0

that's on the the special side that you would be these guys are if you use their name and all

2:11.6

American in the same sentence, nobody thinks you're you're wildly off. And on the other side,

2:16.4

the importance value. It's somebody who if they're missing this season, you think, oh, well,

2:22.1

maybe it isn't as easy for a house day to win a big game championship because this guy is just

2:25.7

sort of absent completely. And either because he is that good or because of the what what else they

2:33.1

have at that position, it leaves a huge hole. So it's an interesting group. And let me run through

2:40.2

very quickly. The players we have already covered so that anyone catching up for, you know,

...
