You might remember last month, I traveled to Lake Eerie to learn about microplastics.

I'm not trying to be an idiot.

But I'm not seeing little chunks of plastic floating around in it.

No, the vast majority of that plastic is actually about the width of a human hair.

These tiny bits of plastic that don't really break down for hundreds of years,

they just get smaller and smaller until they invade not just your streets,

but even the water you drink, the air you breathe.

On its face, of course, the lesson would be just recycle your plastics.
