Hello and welcome to rock and roll politics, the podcast with me, Steve Richards.

And you know what I'm going to say?

We've got a lot to do in our time together. Some brilliant

emails they are flowing in. And we'll read some of those out and have a discussion amongst

the rock and roll politics cooperative. If it's okay with all of you, I will reflect a bit about

the United States, the special relationship in the context of the attempted assassination of Trump, but much wider, range more widely than that.

But before all of that, a couple of, oh yeah, I'm going to reflect a bit on the England performance. You know what?

I've always wanted to be a pundit, a football pundit, or a commentator. In fact, over the summer,

I'm going to apply to Sky Sports. We used to as kids, teenagers, me, my best school friend, Robin South Southwell and a couple of others. We used to,

with those old cassette recorders, record our equivalent of, you know, the commentary and the panel,

as they were known in the late 70s, early 80s. And I used to do a commentary and then the lads, our lads, my friends,

were the panel. I've still got a recording somewhere when we were doing an FAA cup final at our

friend Andreas's house and his mum couldn't really speak much English, but used to bring in cakes during our kind of time together.

And we were recording our panel at half time.

And so we were doing our analysis.

And then his mum walked in.

Andrei, cakes.

And Andreas, we're doing the panel. We're recording the panel.

We took it really seriously. And as I've still got a couple of recordings on ancient cassettes.

So yeah, I'm going to live the dream for about 10 seconds in this podcast. Just a couple of things.
