Welcome back to Bucket Talk, the second Ohio State Scrimmage practice session that we've

been allowed to see this spring is in the books. Nathan Beard here with Stephen Means Doug was off today.

So it's our evaluations of what we saw in another good long stretch of football, right? Like about 90 minutes of football more.

A lot of offense defense, a lot of winter loser, a lot of 7 on 7, 11 on 11, the whole ship bang wanted to get a couple of

newsy things out of the way first saw our first like live injury this spring. It was jihad Carter went down.

It was a non-contact looked knee related. I know it was knee related. Ryan Day later talked about it being knee related.

That they were worried at first about the stability of the knee, but they got a good report back on that.

And we saw jihad Carter. He didn't return to drills, but he was walking around. So a scary moment for Ohio State fans and then they

are a host of players and then what looked like some some positive, but there's going to be further evaluation for him.

It's one of those things where the safety room is full right now and depth is a strength there.

But he'd been doing positive things and with his experience and what he could do and helping at multiple spots, he'd become in these first eight practices.

A pretty important guy too.

Yeah, it's a guy where we continue to talk about that second wing level of safety is right we've through eight practices now when we've been in there.

We've seen first unit is late and ransom josh proctor camera martina is the returning veteran guys in the room.

And that second unit has been sunny styles, Kai Stokes and jihad starter and we've been wondering kind of circling it around sunny stars.

Of course, but could any of those three guys eventually overtake spots on that first unit and Jim knows talking about you got to dominate the two is before you can do that.

Jihad Carter is a guy who would fall into that category of maybe right now he's a two, but could he be a one by the time we get to the fall.

But if it is something where maybe he has some missing practices, they've already been doing this a little bit from what Jim knows told us and trying some corners in that spot, that slot nickel spot.

And so it opened up opportunities for us to see that and we saw Jair Brown and Ryan Turner in that nickel role once jihad Carter went down.

All if it's a situation where he does have to miss any time, it just provides more reps to try something that they had already been trying to attempt to do.

And that's maybe diversify the type of players they have at that spot.
