Does it bother you that in our world today there seems to be so little justice?

I mean, honestly, people cry out for justice, they say they want justice,

and yet it seems at times that so little justice is actually served.

That's the great message of Psalm 82, and not just a complaint about the lack of

justice, but rather a realization of where true justice comes from. Psalm 82 begins this way,

God standeth in the congregation of the mighty. He judgeth among the gods. I marvel to see that God is not seated. We think of a

judge usually as seated, but here God is standing. He's right in the midst of the congregation.

He's right where people live. He sees everything. He knows everything. He says in verse 2,

how long will you judge unjustly and accept the persons of the wicked,

CELA?

Defend the poor and fatherless.

Do justice, there's that word, do justice to the afflicted and needy, deliver the poor and needy, rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

They know not. Neither will

they understand. They walk on in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are out of course.

Let me pause just a moment. Boy, doesn't that sound like the world we live in. The whole earth

seems off course. Everything seems disjointed. Does it seem like even as you watch the evening news or listen to

the news through the day? The whole world's gone man. People have lost their minds. When will this be

made right? Well, we come back to Psalm 82, only when God the judge fulfills his judgment.
