The subject of my investigation is the abduction of Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy.

Who would take an 84-year-old widow from her home in the middle of the night?

Here's the story.

When 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie didn't show up for church on Sunday morning, her family's concern turned into a full-blown criminal investigation.

The mother of today's show host

Savannah Guthrie was last seen around 9.45 p.m. Saturday at her home in the Catalina foothills

north of Tucson, Arizona, and was later reported missing after relatives found no trace of her

inside. Investigators quickly declared her residence a crime scene,

saying evidence indicated she did not leave voluntarily and was likely taken against her will,

possibly from her bed in the middle of the night. Forensics teams found blood matching Nancy's

DNA on her front porch, security cameras, and her pacemaker

app were disabled around the time she vanished. And at least one ransom note with specific

details has been examined by police. The FBI has joined the search and is offering a $50,000

reward for information leading to her safe return or an arrest.

But as of now, no suspects or persons of interest have been publicly identified.
