Hello everyone and welcome to police off the cuff, real crime stories. I'm your host,

retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

First and foremost today, I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving.

And I know all of our friends across the pond, many of you don't celebrate Thanksgiving.

This is an American holiday, but just in the spirit of Thanksgiving, which is giving and being with family and friends and good feelings.

And it segues, I don't know if that's the right word to use, into, of course, the Christmas holidays and the whole season of feeling loved and feeling good and being, again,

being with friends and family, we applaud that.

So even though my friends from across the pond, don't necessarily celebrate Thanksgiving.

We, from the United States here, give you all the good feelings and all the love that we feel on Thanksgiving

and pass it on to our friends across the pond.

This case that we will be covering today, Hannah Kobayashi, really tragic that it happens

this time of year.

But there's so many questions we have and so many

questions that have no answers to them right now because, of course, the police who are

handling this case right now, who are investigating this case right now, are not releasing a lot of

things. And there are many questions that myself

and Professor Mike Geary have about this case, and we'll talk about them because we would think

that both of us being retired in YPD Saundians are experts in missing person cases.

And they are never easy, and they are never, oh, here's the answer.

What it takes is a great deal of work, of canvassing, of interviewing people, of reviewing

video from all over the city of Los Angeles right now.

Most importantly, and I believe this, is to use the public to assist in this investigation.
