Summary
Romans 3:27-29 - What then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

| 0:11.4 | situation where we need to learn how to think a bit differently |
| 0:16.2 | than we typically do about a certain issue in our world. |
| 0:20.1 | You see we are in a political season in the United States, which is where I'm recording this. |
| 0:26.0 | And in every country at some point, there are political times where candidates are lobbying and campaigning for their position so that they can become elected |
| 0:36.3 | as officials to represent and to lead. |
| 0:39.8 | And in those times you hear a lot of statements. I mean so many I can't count them about |
| 0:45.6 | We are a great nation. We are going to do this we will accomplish such and such and it just goes on and on and on you see and in those situations |
| 0:57.2 | there is this thing inside the human heart called pride that wells up. And it's being confident in our own abilities, |
| 1:06.0 | confident in our own perspective and our intention to pull off great things. |
| 1:11.4 | You see pride is one of those things that's kind of a |
| 1:14.8 | double-edged sword. There is a sense in which it's good to be proud |
| 1:18.6 | meaning I'm proud of my kids meaning I'm I approve of their behavior I love how they live their lives I'm encouraged |
| 1:26.1 | by what goes on in their hearts you see that kind of proud is an acceptable kind of |
| 1:31.8 | proud or pride but the kind of pride that puffs a person up about themselves |
| 1:38.4 | is the kind of pride that we kind of frown on in our culture. |
| 1:42.6 | And yet we reach a season like this where politicians, for one, |
| 1:46.6 | are trumpeting their positions, |
| 1:48.9 | and we kind of look the other way. |
| 1:51.0 | We let people boast. |
| 1:52.1 | We let people give these grand |
