0:10.0	I'm Patrick Miller. What can give you peace when you're afraid? A few months ago I took
0:17.1	my daughter to a climbing gym and after she climbed maybe two feet up into the air she
0:22.2	started to scream and she told me air, she started to scream.
0:23.8	And she told me that she was going to fall
0:25.0	and she was going to break a bone.
0:25.8	She had broken an arm recently,
0:27.4	and so I get why she was afraid.
0:29.1	And so I calmly moved towards her
0:31.1	and put my hand on her shoulders,
0:32.4	and I said, hey, hey, I'm right here I'll catch you
0:35.7	you have nothing to fear now to be totally honest these kinds of tricks don't always work but in that case it did
0:42.4	she immediately became more relaxed, she looked back at me, and she kept on climbing.
0:47.0	And in that moment, I couldn't help but reflect on what I do when I'm afraid.
0:52.0	Of course, sometimes I'm in an equally comical situation
0:55.2	you know where if I could just see the bigger picture I'd realize that I'm
0:58.0	screaming about falling to death from two feet above the ground but that's not always
1:02.2	the case sometimes me you we are in real
1:04.9	danger or just a really hard situation and we're right to be afraid before David was
1:10.5	king he spent months and months on the run from King Saul.
