Summary

It’s been one month since Kamala Harris lost the US presidential election and soul-searching within the Democratic Party has already begun as the party prepares for opposition.

It’s not yet clear how Democrats intend to approach the next four years with Trump in office. Will they work with or against him? And how do they shape a new pitch to American voters?

The fallout continues from Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son, Hunter. Gavin Newsom is the most senior Democrat to publicly criticise the president’s decision, and now Donald Trump is arguing the case against him should be thrown out too. Where does this leave Biden’s reputation?

BBC Sounds, music, radio, podcasts. So, Marianna, Anthony, we're all back from Thanksgiving.

0:51.7

You have a good time, Anthony? Absolutely. I ate a lot of turkey. I watched a lot of football. I had a nice relaxing weekend. Sounds like you did most of the traditional pursuits.

0:56.1

My traditions, at least.

0:57.3

Exactly. I was going to say you did most of the things that were not on the infamous Thanksgiving

AmeriCast list from our quiz. And we've had loads of people getting in touch wanting to know

1:08.0

one thing this week, which is what actually was on the list because

1:11.8

we never finished reading it. I would like to add the caveat that I did not come up with the list.

1:18.6

Yeah, actually, it was our production team that came up with this list, which was about as good

1:22.7

as one would imagine, a list compiled by people who don't live in the United States might

1:27.1

do for Thanksgiving activities. You want to detail it for it, it's Mariana. Yeah, okay. These are the things. I should say, by the way, you know, I didn't reject the list, so it's on me as well. Right. This is what was on the list. I think you've got some of these in the end, Anthony, or maybe Justin did. So Macy's Thanksgiving parade in New York City.

1:45.2

I think you got that with a bit of a clue.
