Experiment Merriment.

Today we're experimenting with unusual ways of growing vegetables.

I've tried growing radishes in a pair of old sneakers.

Growing a pumpkin inside of another pumpkin.

Heck, I've even tried growing lettuce upside down.

So I thought it would be a cinch to grow my favorite vegetable, carrots.

But no matter what I do, I can't seem to grow them.

I tried putting a whole carrot in the dirt.

I tried cutting off the top of another carrot and putting that in a bowl of water to see if it grows roots. I even tried planting baby carrots.

But no, no new carrots. Hmm. My friends, Stellen and Luca, must be trying to grow carrots, too.

It's understandable why you might think that carrots have no seeds,

because we don't see seeds on the harvested carrots that we eat.
