From where and when did the accusation of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia begin?

It remains one of the great mysteries, and it's one of the problems we have in unraveling all of this.

I mean look we have some very clear evidence about where part of it came from.

We know for instance that the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee

hired this opposition research firm called Fusion GPS which in turn hired

this former MI6 officer to put together the infamous dossier and that dossier

contains a lot of the claims for which this entire theory narrative has since been based and made the rounds for the past two years.

I think the bigger question is when did this gain currency within government?

Was it entirely because of the dossier or was it because there were

Democratic activists and participants in the Obama administration who were whispering it

and pushing it to the FBI.

Did those come via the Clinton campaign to the Obama officials?

Where exactly was the genesis within government?

And that's an important part because we wouldn't

be talking about any of this if the government hadn't chose to act on that theory
