Summary
Isn't it weird that the Bible has all these little verse and chapter markers? And the original writers of the books of the Bible didn't write them. So, where did they come from? Kaitlyn explains why we have verse and chapter markers and how it sometimes changes how we read the Bible.

| 0:19.7 | Welcome back to another episode of Curiously, Caitlin. I am joined once again by producer Mike. Mike, how are you? Caitlin, I'm frustrated that I'm trying to usually come up with puns for how I'm doing Bays Center question for today. Yeah. And I couldn't come out with one for this one. Yeah, this would be a tough one to do. So just a little peek behind the curtain. |

| 0:52.6 | What are the numbers in between the words and the Bible? I love that so much. We have another one. Maybe we can play it too. There's one we got recently that was along the same lines of a kid saying, oh, I'm blinking now on how they said it. Why are there so many chapters in the Bible? |

| 1:12.0 | Let's listen to that one too. |
| 1:13.7 | Why are there so many chapters in the Bible? |
| 1:17.7 | Kids like, where are the pictures, kids? |
| 1:21.7 | Yeah, that's incredible. |
| 1:22.9 | I love both of these questions because you become so used to reading the Bible. That you're just like, oh, of course. And you sit in church and, you know, the pastor says, like, turn to this chapter and this first and you just kind of go, of course. But if you're a kid, you're going, yeah, wait, I never read books that look this way. Yeah, it's super boring. So that's super weird. Except for the book with no pictures. Now that. Also strange. Intertaining book, but not. Oh, yeah. I know what you're talking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. See, it's classic in our, in our house. You're reading more children's books more often than I. That's, that we're not reading the same thing. I'm confused. Weird, weird. Okay, Caitlin. But yeah, seriously, the chapters and verses, it's a little odd. It's weird. It's been in our Bibles as long as I can remember. Yeah. And it's one of those things where I'm like, oh, actually, maybe I knew the history at one point. I don't know how they came to be because obviously Paul, Peter, the other New Testament writers, the Old Testament |
| 2:19.1 | writers did not include, I'm pretty sure, did not include chapters in the original manuscript. |
| 2:23.3 | True, true, true. |
