Wow. Hi, Dr. Laura. This is surreal. My son is 22 is a third generation listener.

Oh, absolutely.

Okay. So I got a question for you. I realized that after being a long time listener, I'm out of protocol with some things that you hold to standard and a lot of times I wish I did.

I've been in a relationship a little over a year now.

And the man I'm with is absolutely phenomenal. We adore each other. We get along very, very well. We'll have a rub every once in a while, but we usually talk about it more stronger afterwards.

About three or four months in our relationship, we realized that we wanted to have a home and another location. So we bought or he bought a home in this other location that we like to travel to.

And since we've been traveling back and forth to this home, making it a home.

And he said that we would make a decision about marriage after a year.

And I come to look conservative to help a family and the time since been taken by and but I I was good with the year, you know, you get a chance to know somebody.

And I think that we had previously married have kids, our kids are no longer at home. And the year came and went and there was there was no proposal or anything like that.

There's been talk about marriage for the last six or seven months.

I feel that pressure from friends and family. And I think that it sees into a fear pressure that I have on myself and where I want a relationship to go, which we both been very clear about.

That we didn't want a long dating that we would make a decision and move forward.

And I don't know if it's appropriate to bring it up. I realize it's not 1945 anymore and women don't necessarily need to be married.

There's no point in ever thinking about marrying a man. You can't talk to about everything.

I think first of all, I think getting married in a year is too soon.

I think it takes two putting that aside. I don't it's like you're in you're in your high.

Does the boy still like me?

Yes.

You made an agreement, which I think was a foolish one. Nonetheless, you made an agreement.

So you say it's past a year. What's the status of our agreement? If you can't say that, then don't think about being married to somebody you can't talk to about everything.
