We'll start this hour with the Yankees, only because, you know, this is a very interesting week for them.

They had the news of Aaron Judge, I guess it was Saturday morning.

You had the loss on Friday night.

The, I don't know what word I would use for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

It just looked like they were playing in a fog.

It didn't look great. It didn't look great.

It didn't end great.

They win yesterday and we'll get into the game in a moment.

But I do feel like with the trade deadline coming up this week,

and I know they've played 100 games.

So this is silly to say this.

But I really do think a lot depends on how they play this week against Tampa,

given where they're at in the

standings leading the wild card but you got teams right on their heels like what are the Yankees

is the question i would have for you as i sit here on july 28th you know what's funny is i was asking

that question in 22 and 23 and then i felt last year, they finally figured it out.

We knew a lot more about who they were.

And they were a lot more lovable.

There was something about them. I was like, you know what? I really like this team. I feel like they have a chance. They have legs. And I was like, all right, this is going to be more consistent. Who's their identity? What do they want to be? They can't figure it out.

I will say this, though.

I think that if you're a fan of this team,

you're just going to have to ride out a stomachache for the rest of the year. The team that hits the most home runs in the league, the team that's going to have a front runner for AL MVP and Aaron Judge, because he's going to come back, that's not a team that doesn't get to October. So while they're still like maybe under the water, you know, when ducks like are kicking their legs, but they look calm above the water. That's what I feel like the Yankees are right now. They have way too many good things. Ryan McMahon was really good this weekend, right? They just traded for him and he's already made an impact for them. But I will say this, the splits without Aaron Judge, this team is not a winning ball club. They have to get him back.
