Good evening and welcome to our midweek Bible study. We're so glad that you're joining with us tonight.

We are making our way through the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse.

And tonight, we are in the Book of Isaiah. We finished chapter 7 last night. We're only going to do chapter 8 tonight, and I think you'll see why here shortly. So for those of you

online, if you want to join with us, those of you here, if you're not there already, I'll

encourage you and invite you to turn there at this time. And again, very much looking forward to

what the Lord has for us tonight. So why don't we begin by praying and asking God to bless our time

together in this word, if you would please join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, we're just so in awe of you.

We're so in love with you. And Lord, tonight, as we now have our Bibles open,

so too do we want to have our hearts open and our eyes open and our ears open to. Lord, we want to see what it is that you

want to show us tonight. We want to hear what it is that you want to speak into our lives

tonight. And in our hearts, we want to receive

and take heed to your word tonight. So, Lord, would you, as only you can, enable us by the

Holy Spirit to focus, concentrate, give you our undivided attention so our minds

don't wander. Lord, we need for the Holy Spirit to get a hold of our attention and then keep our attention as you speak

very powerfully and I believe very personally into our lives in and through your word here in this chapter that we have before us tonight. We pray in Jesus name. Amen and amen. All right. So I want to talk with

you tonight about the paramount importance of going to God's word as a first response as opposed to a last resort.

And the reason is is because woven throughout the fabric of this chapter, Isaiah is speaking

to prophetically the go-to, if you will, for every situation that

we face in our lives. And such is the case with Judah and King Ahaz as we're about to see.

And the takeaway for us tonight from this chapter is this.

It's the Word of God and the God of the Word. That's the go-to. First response, not the last
