I want to share with you today something that's really common that I've noticed that takes place when we go on a journey.

Right, we go on a spiritual journey, a journey of growth, expansion, evolution.

Often, when someone starts to work with a life coach, for example, for the first time,

or they start maybe reading self-help books or pursuing

personal development content going to seminars workshops retreats however it shows

up where you know the inside of you is expanding and growing

and becoming more of who you really are, when people go through this, maybe it's you, maybe it's someone you know, it can be, I don't

want to use the word upsetting or even triggering, but there are some people who are not going to like it.

Right? There are people who like you the way you are. They like it when you complain with them. They like it when you spend your time at the weekends drinking with them.

They like it when you fall into line, agree, laugh at the same jokes,

spend your money the way that you're used to spending it with them, spending your energy

the way you're used to spending it with them.

And now, hmm, maybe you've got like different interests, you've got different friends,

your time's used in different ways. Some people are not going to like it and they're not going to support it.

We cannot blame that. We cannot judge them. We can only continue to love them and figure out over time without pressure, without stress, let it

unfolds what parts they play in our lives and maybe if it's perhaps a little less or maybe it looks a little different.

My friend Kathy Heller said this to me once because I had a conversation with her about it and

I was speaking about someone in my life who I was

feeling this more and more with and what she said to me was, you know how if you're sitting in a dark room and then you go outside and it's bright sunlight?

For a second it hurts.

Right, for a second it hurts.
