Well, hello there. It's Morgan Harper-Nichols here. I'm an artist and a writer, and this is a space

0:06.1

where I turn the lens on various topics and subjects in hopes to learn something new or see something in a new way.

And today we're talking about what to do when you've lost your sense of passion.

0:23.3

Thank you so much for listening.

This word passion is a big one. It's an interesting one. It's one that we tend to associate with a strong feeling or emotion or an object of someone's love. These are just from Miriam Webster's definition of the

0:40.0

word passion. And that word passion can get applied to so many different things. However,

0:46.9

you may have heard this before, but the word passion actually has even more interesting origins

of passion with, with with work for instance or

1:29.5

with the project I'm working on. It's that that moment of no longer feeling driven or motivated. So

1:36.5

it's interesting that the origins of this word start with this concept of suffering, but then it gets

1:43.0

to this strong emotion thing.

1:45.7

But I think that there might be something connected there.

1:49.8

So I was reading the introduction to one of my favorite books, and that is Letters to a Young

1:56.6

Poet by Rainer Maria Roker, one of my favorite poets. And I had forgotten this part of the story

2:04.6

that the young poet that Roka is writing to was actually a student of the same military school

2:13.7

that Roka had been to years before. And Roka's time at this military school was actually a
