My Lord, and my God, I affirm a belief that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence. I ask your pardon for my sins

and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful. My immaculate mother, St. Joseph, my father and lord,

my guardian angel, intercede for me.

They did it because they did not know that it was impossible.

This phrase attributed to Mark Twain may explain very well the history of salvation, the history of the church.

Our history, my Lord.

We did it so far because we did not know that it was impossible.

And that act of faith that is every single step on our way towards heaven, towards you,

has a reason to be optimistic, has a foundation, and is your presence among us.

This is the title of the meditation that San Jose Maria gave for Easter many years ago and is now in the book

Christ is passing by. And it has to do with the foundation of our hope, which is you, my Lord.

And precisely because it is impossible for human beings, we reach out to you.

And you can do the impossible because you are God.

You came back from death.

You came back from that land that nobody else has come back by himself or herself.

And you did it with power and with peace, both. So the foundation is a joyful reality. You are alive.

And maybe it's good for me to go through the life of other Christians

that experienced doubt, darkness,

and they didn't see anything during their lives, but they

were faithful somehow.
