It was on this day that a man named Jesus of Nazareth, after declaring himself to be God, was sentenced to death.

Though it was midday, we are told that darkness came upon the earth in the darkest moment

of human history.

In our time together, we're going to examine the crucifixion, the execution, the murder

of Jesus of Nazareth, and we're going to examine it

historically, medically, biblically, and personally. Let's begin by examining crucifixion historically.

Christians have long used the cross as our symbol of faith, our icon, if you will.
