When you find yourself suddenly facing a crisis, what is your first response?

Is it to see if you can work it out yourself which would sort of be a

normal kind of response or is your second response to see who else you could

help to get you work it out? somehow the two of you could maybe make things work out right, or is

your first response to cry out to God?

Which is the verse?

That is, where is God and your priorities when it comes

the difficulty in pain and sudden distress and crises and urgent moments, where is he in the whole list of people on persons and things you

want to do?

Is he first or is he down the line somewhere?

Well God is very clear in his word, crystal clear in his word about how you and I should

respond immediately in times of crisis, in times when we don't know what to do next or how to handle a situation,

when we feel overwhelmed at great distress,

what is our first response?

So I want you to turn, if you will, to Psalmm 57 because in the Psalm David is going through one of these

times in fact he talks about it being a very stormy time in his life and he certainly

faced many difficulties, many trials, many hardships

before he became the king and even after he was the king.

He understood what traumatic situations and circumstances were like, he knew what

pressure was like, he knew what sudden appearances of evil were like, and so he
