I had a question about Social Security for my dad, Jill.

He just turned 66 and wants to take Social Security right now, but I don't think it's the right time for him to do it yet.

Okay, why does he want to take it and why don't you think he should take it?

She wants to take it because his friends tell him he should take it.

And he says that people are telling him that if you run the numbers, that if you don't live past 83 it makes sense to take it now I think that

seems a little silly he's in a good position financially he's still working and

I think it at least makes sense for him to wait till he retires later next year.

Okay, in his full retirement age according to Social Security, he's reached that already at 66 and change or something?

Correct.

Okay. So I mean look every minute he waits, delays taking that Social Security after his full retirement

age, it will amount to more money and he doesn't need the

money still working how about his savings does he have enough money uh... socked away

yes they have approximately two million in retirement savings.
