Hello and welcome back to the morning mindset I hope you are ready to get your mind

aligned with the truth of God it is time for us to do that by looking at the

scripture and when we talk about getting our minds aligned with the truth of God,

the inference, I don't know if you've thought about this, but the inference is that our minds are the ones that are changing.

Our way of thinking is what is being modified so that we can be

in alignment with his. You see God's thoughts do not change. God's thoughts are true.

They are right, they are just. And his thoughts often kind of rub against ours in a way that

causes friction because ours are not aligned with his.

And so that's our task every day, is to get ourselves aligned.

And this passage we're looking at in Romans 13 verses 1 through 7 is one of those where some of us may be feeling some of that friction.

It may be difficult because what Paul has said is that every ruler that is in power and he's talking about governmental authorities

here is appointed by God. So stop for a moment. Think about this in the scope of

history. Think about it in the scope of our day-to-day existence. You know, we hear of

tyrants across the world. We hear of historical figures like Adolf Hitler.

Saavam, who was over Iraq years back.

You know, we hear of these terrible rulers and governments, in fact other nations often come against those rulers to oppose them and yet

Paul is telling us here every ruler is appointed by God and therefore we should be

subject to those governing authorities.

Now let's pause for a moment and think this through because Paul makes it very clear that those

who resist the authorities that are in power will incur judgment.

All right, so we've got to take this seriously. This is not something where you decide to go against

the government flippantly or half-baked or with your facts incorrect or those kinds of things.
