Summary

In today’s episode, Abby gives a little update and shares how she’s been feeling lately and the importance of how you react to changes in your life. With uncertainty swarming everyone’s life thanks to COVID-19, it’s important to not get caught up on the past and what you expected or planned on happening. You have to accept that change is a part of life and be mentally present so you can squeeze every ounce of opportunity that this change has given you. (also - it was mentioned in the podcast that Abby will be traveling home. just wanted to clarify she will be driving herself and not flying for anyone concerned about that!) Hi everyone, what's up and welcome back to the Gen Z Girl podcast. My name is Abby Asseland. If you guys are new here,

0:05.7

it's been a minute since I've recorded, I feel like, just because the last episode was pre-recorded.

0:11.9

And a lot has changed since then. My goodness. Today's episode I really just wanted to do because it just felt right for me to talk about this today,

0:24.4

just because it's something that I've been struggling with and experiencing a lot lately.

0:30.1

And I feel like it's something I've kind of, I'm in the process of moving past,

0:34.9

but I still have phases going through it and everything.

0:37.2

So I'm just

0:37.6

going to be talking about when things don't go as planned or how you expected them to go.

0:44.1

And just kind of finding that resilience and unpredictable because life right now is just so

0:50.4

crazy. Seriously, what a time to be alive. But yeah, a lot's changed. And I'll get into that in a

0:57.4

second. But so the quote for today's episode, you guys know I love to start out with a quote. And I love

1:04.3

this quote. You guys are going to see how it ties to the episode as I get into it. But it is,

1:09.3

even when we can't control the situation around us,

1:12.3

we can always choose where we're directing our attention. And that quote just speaks volumes

1:17.6

just because truly where you choose to focus and what you choose to focus on can absolutely

1:27.2

change outcomes and can absolutely,

1:30.6

you know, change moods. It can change a lot of things, even if everything else around you is

1:35.8

completely out of your hands. So I just really liked that because at the end of the day, you know,

1:40.3

you really can't control everything that's going on physically and literally around you,

1:45.5

but you can't control, you know, inside your thoughts, the way you perceive things and the way you react to things,

1:51.6

and that can make a big difference. So my goal for this week is to be easier on myself.

1:57.8

For those of you who don't know, which I'm sure majority of you who religiously, like,
