I'm Jay Warner Wallace. Well if you're

like me and you're on social media much you know how quickly these

conversations especially conversations about God or politics and somehow these

often get completed but anyway you'll notice that these

are often produced division pretty quickly hostility pretty quickly that I don't even

participate in debates I never have for this reason I think by the time I was

approached to participate in a debate the social media world was unfortunately

pretty active and what I was seeing is that there are really so few reasonable

seekers who are honestly in the middle who are listening to debates to figure out

what they believe that the

investment of my time it does not I get it there's lots of folks who are involved in

debates who who love their value and our community of Christian case makers there's people who have made a reputation

debating. I just think that the season of that is passed. I think that what we see and the back side of debates if you look at the

comments and read the comments are people who are entrenched on one side or the

other and name calling often on one side or the other it's not like we're

free from doing that ourselves we often do that as
