My name is Dan Koch. Like many of you, I've been on a complicated faith journey for a number of years now.

And while I tend to find myself on the progressive side of Christianity, my goal is not to make liberal converts.

I want this show to be a resource for Christians to my right and to my left, as well as

former Christians and non-religious folks, anyone who finds themselves asking difficult questions

about God, science, prayer, fate, suffering, evangelism, and more. So many of us have been given bad answers to those good questions, often by people with

pure intentions.

I want to say that you have permission to take both Christianity and the modern world

very seriously.

And I hope to facilitate that by introducing you to people seeking God across

the Christian spectrum, engaging hard questions in a multitude of ways. Thanks for listening.

Dr. Laura Anderson, it's been a long time coming. I'm glad to have you on the show. You are a

religious trauma researcher and clinician. You co-founded the Religious Trauma Institute's

research, I don't know, it's not a division. Consortium, collaborative, what's it called?

Collaborative group. I think it's called a collaborative research

group. Yeah. Something like that. I've been a member of that for maybe about two years now.

Yeah. Really grateful for that group. You've got a book now when religion hurts you,

putting all this work into printed form. And I'm glad to talk to you about this topic.

Yeah, because like we were saying before we started to record, we've been in the same

circles for quite a long time.

And so it's always fun then when you get to actually be as much face to face as you

can with, you know, people.
