Ashes.

They're nothing but remnants of something that was.

But because of God's grace, restoration is possible.

Hope is found in the story of the Prodigal Sun

in today's session of Dr. Stanley's life principal series.

Now, the story of the Prodigal Sun is the story of a young man who made a choice and one day

he came to his father and he said, look, I want what's coming to me.

And at this point in my life, you know, I've been here long enough, and so I'd like to have what's coming to me, and I've got something in mind.

Well, he had the right to do that, and the father had the right to give him whatever he wanted. He had another

son and the eldest son which was the other son always got twice as much as

the younger son and so now he takes what is his, he has what's his, what he's been thinking about, what he's

been dreaming about, what he's been visualizing in his mind, and the scripture says he takes

this and he goes into a far country. Now think about this

for a moment. He had it all but in his mind there was something missing.

He probably heard about it.

He thought about it.

He visualized it.

He had found himself, putting himself in that position

of being with these people and being able to experience this and having all this

money and having all and buying anything in the world you want doing whatever you'd like to do in

life and I mean how could it be any better than that? He probably got a little bit tired of his
