I want to share with you something that I was reading about online and I might not remember

it perfectly.

I read it a couple of weeks ago, but you'll get the gist.

There was a girl and it actually, she was sharing on

TikTok what happened to her, but I was reading about it on people, people.com. And this young

woman, she lived, I think it was in Massachusetts, and she signed up for an event. I believe it was

on Event Bright or one of those kind of event apps. And it was a dinner

for people looking to make new friends. So I think the headline was something about like a

loneliness club. You know, having people gather together in different cities. I think it's a

marvelous idea. Look, people move. Life circumstances change.

I'm always a fan of taking action. And if you want to make new friends, which can have its

struggles as an adult, I'm aware, I've moved around a lot myself. It seems as if someone somewhere

was planning these events for adults looking to make new friends. And so she bought a ticket.

It was pretty inexpensive, but there was a group that was meant to be gathering at a restaurant

to meet, to connect. Cool, right? So this girl got there and she was like, you know, it's not

that much to spend on a ticket. I'll show up and I'll make new friends.

She got there and there was nobody there. She was the only one who showed up to this thing that was

deemed a loneliness club. And when she checked with the manager, she checked with the servers.

They said that there was no reservation for this kind of event,

and it was news to them. And then the manager said to her, I'm sorry, this might have just been a

cruel joke. I'm really, I don't know. It's not on the books. I'm not sure what to tell you.
