So one of the things people will often complain about, lament over or just kind of note in their

life is they say, okay, I go to pray or I specifically go to Mass, but it feels so empty

because it feels like I'm just going through the motions, right?

So when it comes to my spiritual life and it comes to worship of God, I don't know, there

seems to be more because I think I'm just going through the motions.

I say, that's awesome because that's not necessarily a bad thing, but also might indicate that

you need to change a little about how you're going to Mass.

Okay, here's what I mean.

Okay, way back in the day, there was this TV, nope, it was a movie called The Karate Kid

and then they did a remake of it, which was also relatively okay.

But in both movies, there was Daniel and he was trained by Mr. Miyagi.

If you remember this, in both films, they did different versions of the same thing where

at the beginning of training, Mr. Miyagi said, okay, so Daniel, you know, wax on, wax off,

you know, paint the fence, sand the floor, right?

So then all day here's Daniel and he's painting the fence.

Oh, I think the other one in the new one was put on your backpack or pick up your whatever

something.

Some kind of movement, he had to do over and over again.

And at the end of the days of doing this, he knew karate because those were the actual

moves he would use, painting fences and sanding floors and waxing on and waxing off were

the moves that he would use to defend yourself in karate.
