It's no secret that on this show we tend to spend most of our time in the 20th century, and that's

because I like the 20th century. There's more meat on the bone, you might say, more facts to work

with. With its

abundance of sources and counter sources, meticulous record keeping, photographs, and audio

recordings, it's much easier to patch together a three-dimensional understanding of what

happened, how it happened, and why it happened. After all, reading about what a famous figure said,

and actually hearing them say it, are very different things.
