TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

Mark 14:60–65 - [60] And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?” [61] But he remained silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” [62] And Jesus said, “I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” [63] And the high priest tore his garments and said, “What further witnesses do we need? [64] You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they all condemned him as deserving death. [65] And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, “Prophesy!” And the guards received him with blows. (ESV) Daniel 7:13–14 - [13] “I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. [14] And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. (ESV)

Hey there, my friends. Welcome back to the morning mindset. We are here to get our minds

0:08.8

aligned with the truth of God's word for this day. And I don't know if you've ever heard anybody

0:14.2

say this, but sometimes people will claim Jesus never claimed to be God. Well, today we're going to see a passage where that is

0:22.3

exactly proven false on the morning mindset. We'll be looking at Mark chapter 14 versus 60

0:28.6

through 65. And by way of reference, we're going to be looking also at the book of Daniel

0:34.9

chapter 7, verses 13 through 14. So get out your Bibles.

0:39.1

Now, this issue of Jesus being God is of vital importance because if Jesus was just a man

0:46.1

and he died on the cross to pay the price for our sin, then it would not make a bit of difference

0:52.1

because no man can live a life perfect enough

0:55.1

to please the Almighty God to avert his wrath against our sin. But the perfect God man

1:02.4

could do that and did do that. So let's pray before we dig into Mark chapter 14

1:09.1

verses 60 through 65.

1:11.6

Our Lord and our God, we ask you to give us clarity as we seek to understand what Jesus was saying to the high priests when they were accusing him

1:19.4

and help us to see how it ties back to the Old Testament and clarifies what he meant.

1:25.2

We ask it in Jesus' name, amen.

1:30.0

Okay, friends, Mark chapter 14,

1:35.9

verses 60 through 65. Now, Jesus is in the midst of the high priest's courtroom, and they are accusing him, and he's saying nothing. And so here in verse 60, the high priest stood up in the midst

1:41.4

and asked Jesus, have you no answer to make?

1:45.2

What is it that these men testify against you?

1:48.4

But he remained silent and made no answer.

1:51.8

And again, the high priest asked him, are you the Christ, the son of the Blessed One?

1:58.1

Now let's pause for a moment.
