I invite you to open your Bibles to Romans chapter 12 for the reading of the

sermon text will be reading verses 17 through 21.

repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.

If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God,

for it is written.

Vengeance is mine. I will repay, says the Lord.

To the contrary, if your enemy is hungry, feed him.

If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For by doing so, you will

heat burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Let's pray together.

Father, I ask for your help now to be faithful to the Bible and not to say anything that would be contradictory of it and to bring every affection of my heart into conformity to its proportions

and to have a proper balance.

And I ask that justice and mercy would be mingled in the lives of your people in such a way

that the way you really are would shine forth in this world. Father our hearts are grieved.

Indeed sometimes we want to say with Jeremiah, our eyes run down

with tears that people do not know your law. That millions of people in this country and around the world are oblivious to your truth

that ignore you, defame you, belittle you by paying no attention to you, and making the television vastly more important than you are,
