0:14.5	Have you ever heard a Christian say something like this, I had a really good time in prayer
0:18.8	today.
0:19.8	Oh, prayer was really good at a good time, reflecting on the Word of God.
0:23.7	It was a good time in the chapel, at a good time in adoration, it was really good to be there
0:28.2	in prayer.
0:29.2	What do they really mean by that when they say that their prayer is good?
0:34.3	I think what they mean is something like this.
0:36.1	I think they mean they sensed that they were close to God.
0:39.7	They felt God's presence or they sensed God guiding them or encouraging them or inspiring
0:45.6	them in some way or maybe they got some good insight for their lives in prayer.
0:51.0	And that's all wonderful.
0:52.0	Those could be tremendous blessings that God gives us in our prayer time.
0:58.5	But what happens when we don't have those insights in prayer?
1:02.8	What happens when we don't sense his hand guiding us in prayer, encouraging us?
1:07.4	What happens when we don't feel close to God in prayer?
1:11.5	Many of the saints would tell us it's in those moments of darkness and dryness in prayer.
1:17.2	That God is inviting us to take that next step with him in a profound way.
1:22.4	We may not feel his presence, but he's really there.
1:26.7	He's closer to us now than he was ever before.
1:30.6	But the key is to understand what God is doing in those moments of darkness and how we respond.
1:37.8	And that's what I want to take a look at in this week's podcast.
