Do you ever have one of those days where you just throw your hands up in the air and say,

I give up. I can't, I can't fix this,

I can't deal with this, I can handle this. Well, the psalmist had such days. As a matter of fact,

in one place, he said he was at wits end. He's about to lose his mind. You ever think you're there?

And then it gets even worse. In another place, he felt like he was going to die. You ever think you're there? And then it gets even worse. In another place, he felt like

he was going to die. You ever think you're there? Burden's so great, so crushing. You can't deal with

this? Well, I've got good news for you today. I want to report to you today that when you come to the

end of yourself, you've come to the beginning of God's resources. As a matter of fact,

I believe many times when we throw our hands up in the air and say, I can't, God must begin to

applaud in heaven and say, wonderful. I've been waiting on you to get there all along. You see,

it's in our weakness that his strength is made perfect.

It's when we come to nothing that God begins to show us everything he has for us.

We come now today to the third key in prayer. Keys to the open door and we're learning from our wonderful instructor,

the Lord Jesus Christ. He's the only one who fully understands all of this and can apply it.

In Luke chapter 11, he's telling a story. Listen to the story. He said unto them in verse 5,

which of you shall have a friend and shall go into him at midnight and say

unto him, friend lend me three loaves, for a friend of mine and his journey has come to me,

and I have nothing to set before him. You see, it was not enough to simply say, I have a need. Now he says, I want you to know,

I have nothing. The cupboards are bare, the pantry is empty. There's nothing for me to give to my friend.
