Well yes Pablo and think it's great to be here but despite whatever's going on with Chris Middletons knee. I do know we will always have last year's title to comfort us so.

And truthfully I think I'm okay with that. I like how you're already grateful for the past you're not putting much into the future just yet but the future ride.

Does dovetail here however cruelly with the reason you're on the show today and it's because y'all is on a to come.

Is now officially as important to the future and the fortunes of this team as he has ever been as he was also in last year's playoffs and this has been a particular fixation of yours lately so tell us what you've been looking into.

Yeah so as a Bucks fan there's long been something that felt kind of mysterious to me about a little piece of Yannis's story. This is an area of like what we talk about when we talk about Yannis that didn't totally add up for me and that being his often expressed love for the city of Milwaukee.

When I came here you know filling up the city the city that knows basketball. This is something he discusses frequently in press conferences and interviews.

This is my city you know trust me they believe in me they believe in us even when we were like we were lost the city still was like on our side.

But the lingering question for me has been how exactly did this love come to be because for one athletes often say they love the city they play for.

Right and then like a week later they'll force a trade or sign with another team. Yeah plus at first blush someone raised in Athens Greece with family roots in Nigeria didn't seem like a natural fit for a small Midwestern city.

And there is this one story related to all this that I have been drawn to in particular.

I was so excited because this was first of all Bucks player and second of all this guy I thought was going to be great and he was in our car and it was like the most exciting thing.

And the more I looked into it the more I found that this story opened a door into a greater understanding of the bond between player and team and city.

Which in the end played what I find to be an integral role in bringing Milwaukee its first championship in 50 years.

And it's over the Bucks event the long way to send it after a half century the Milwaukee Bucks are NBA champions once again.

Right now the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks are kind of reeling. They're in a tight series with the Chicago Bulls a team everyone expected them to just demolish and in Wednesday's lost their second best player Chris Middleton.

Spraying his MCL sidelineing him for weeks but the one thing the city of Milwaukee can depend on as always is their two time MVP Janis Antitakunpo.

So today as the Bucks resume their quest for back to back NBA titles we explain what truly makes this personal relationship between Janis and Milwaukee so singular as told by the off forgotten people the locals.
