Oh, that God would bless us with forgetfulness

about many words spoken about us and about our ministry

and about our spouses and about our children.

Words of the wind.

And I think Elifaz doesn't understand that.

Elifaz is upset and he says, now it has come to you and you're impatient.

Because he just heard these words in chapter 3 about, I wish I weren't born.

I think they should have said, let's give him a few days to think about that.

Or a few months maybe. You

don't need to start preaching this guy because he blurted out some wish I hadn't been born

since. I think we've all had moments where we said something we really didn't mean. We just

blurted it out in the middle of our pain.

And sometimes the worst part is how quickly people can jump in to try to fix it. I'm Dan

Now, there's an order to these chapters.

And I'll just point it out, it does have a significance, and I'll show you a little bit of it.

There are three cycles of speeches.

Elifaz speaks, Job answers. Bill Dad speaks, Job answers. Zofar speaks, Job answers.

That's cycle one, chapters four through 14. Cycle two, Elifaz speaks, Job answers. Bill Dad speaks, Job answers. Zofar speaks, Job answers. That's cycle two. Chapter 15 through 21. Then there's a third cycle. What's happening is that the speeches are getting shorter, because these guys are running out of things to say.
