And first of all, I want to turn to one of my favorite scriptures.

I don't even know if you're allowed to have favorite scriptures.

If not, forgive me, Lord, I do.

And it's Colossians chapter 1.

And Paul writes from verse 13,

for he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness.

We could stop right there and just say praise God

and be encouraged for the rest of our lives.

He has rescued us.

He doesn't say he will rescues us.

He has rescued us.

It's a done deal on the cross.

And it says that in the Greek,

the word rescue is the Greek Erisato.

An Erisato literally means to snatch to oneself.

And if you want an image in your head to go along with that translation,

I guess there would be like a child running out in the street

and there's a car coming.

And the parent, the mother or the father,

will see the thing that is about to happen will run out

and snatch the child out of harm's way.

That is what God did with you and me.
