We can't help but think of travel as having a couple of major governing factors, a destination and a time frame.

Now it's natural for most people to see it this way because few have unlimited time for a trip, therefore the time frame, and choosing where we want to end up,

a destination is kind of a human thing to do. But if we focus too much on those two planning points,

the time frame and the destination, the essence of the trip seems to get lost.

We tend to forget that the real adventure is in the journey, not the destination, and that can lead us down a path we never intended to visit.
