Because our first guest is journalist Ian Kennedy, who just wrote a book about race, racism, and sports in Canada,

called On Account of Darkness, shining a light on race and sport.

And the second is Michael Lee of The Washington Post, who writes about sports and society.

And so I want to speak to him a little bit about the NBA's response to the police murder of Tyree Nichols. I also have a

just stand up and just sit down award and more, but first, let's get started with Ian Kennedy.

And it seems tinneered and a bit unreal

to start this conversation about racism, sports,

and all of these issues without first asking you about your reaction to the

release of the videotape about the police murder of Tyree Nichols, how you were processing that

and what you think we need to take from this?
