Hey there, listeners, welcome to horror movie club.

The show where two dudes who are not quite nerds but not quite nobs choose a horror movie each week to rate and review.

I'm Brian.

I'm on the phone with Ashfin, and today we are discussing When Evil Lurks from 2023, directed and written by Damian Rugna, starring Ezekiel Rodriguez and Damien Salomon.

And in this Argentine horror film, when a possessed person shows up in their town,

two brothers try to fix the problem, but dig themselves and their loved ones deeper into the depths of evil.

If you're new to the show, we are going to discuss some background

info on this movie for the first 15 or 20 minutes. We will keep that spoiler free, but after

that we will play some transition music and go into spoiler mode where we walk through the plot

in detail and review the film. This was requested by Zach and there's a decent amount of buzz

around it in our Discord community. It had a limited theatrical release, I believe on like October

6th and then it came to shutter on October 27th, which is three days ago as of us recording this.

So it released around the same time as Five Nights at Freddy's.

Two movies released at the same time for two very different type of horror fan.

Couldn't be more different, actually, from a horror standpoint.

Yeah.

Damien Ruggna has said, like, I make movies for horror fans, not for anybody else.
