I love this series because everybody needs to come back, right?

Either now or at some point, all of us can relate to this journey we're on because all of us need a comeback story.

And this afternoon, I love it because today we're talking about the comeback from dreams that are dashed.

Anybody ever had a dream in your life and you kind of saw all the way that you thought it was going to be and somehow that dream has got snatched away.

Some of our comeback stories are going to be, I blew it and I needed to make a comeback.

But today's comeback story is a little bit of a different road because today we're talking about that reality.

Of us having a dream in our heart about how we think our lives are going to unfold and then because of circumstances that are beyond our control, that dream goes off the rails.

And that's the character and scripture that we're talking about today.

We're talking about that place in life where you're not in control of the outcome.

But in that moment, everything goes haywire and the dream that you were thinking God had put in front of you for your life looks like it's collapsed altogether.

And I think all of us in some way can tap into that place.

And if that's you today, you came on the right day because God is wanting to plan a seed today in our hearts and that seed is that no matter what the circumstances in our lives.

God is still God and God is still for us and God still has a plan to use our lives in a significant way in the unfolding of his story and for his glory.

It doesn't matter what the circumstance, if God is still great enough to use our lives for his glory, there can be a comeback story for you and a comeback story for me.

That's what was true of Joseph.

And I don't know if you remember the character Joseph and the Old Testament in the book of Genesis, it's the very first book in scripture.

Joseph as a young teenager had a dream from God.

And I think that's where a lot of us can tap into this story today because a lot of us have had a dream.

Sometimes that dream maybe was from being a teenager, but we kind of saw a path or saw a picture of what our lives were going to be or maybe we felt a calling on our lives to pursue a certain direction.

And that was we were convinced that this is the way it's going to go.

That this dream is going to come true of our lives, but then somehow that dream just evaporated in a moment or in a series of events that we didn't even see coming.

And Joseph had a dream when he was a teenager.
