When did you walk out of a movie theatre and why?

I worked at a theatre in the late 80s and we had Mystic Pizza.

We didn't sell very many tickets to it and that about 20 minutes in, most everyone would come out demanding their money back.

The manager would wait at the door with passers filled out waiting for them.

Never could figure out why everyone was so mad about that movie.

What's so horrible about it? I've never really heard of it before, but it has a 6.2 on IMDB and a

78% on rotten tomatoes. It doesn't look like my cup of tea at all, but it also doesn't look

like the kind of thing people would walk out of in droves. I've never seen it, but I believe

Mystic Pizza is a

pizzeria in Mystic, Connecticut. If people didn't know this, they might be expecting a

movie about magical pizza, which sounds awesome. Dinosaur. I was screaming and crying because

I was scared of the dinosaurs. My dad dragged me out of the theatre. My dad brought me and my brothers to see

Jurassic Park in the theatres at 9pm. After the T-Rex ate the lawyer, I spent the rest of the

movie in the hall crying and terrified. I had nightmares for weeks. My dad and brothers watched

the rest of the movie and didn't even check on me. Little girls sobbing in the hallway of a movie theatre.

Yep, good times.

My dad, my 11-year-old sister and my 21-year-old self thought it would be nice to take my

grandma out to dinner and a movie for her birthday.

There was a light-hearted comedy in theaters at the time about a grandson who fell on hard times and had to move in with his grandmother and hijinks ensue.

We took my super conservative, 87-year-old Christian grandmother to see Grandma's boy.

I think we made it to the point where Alex tickles his pickle in the bathroom before Grandmar loudly proclaimed everyone in the theatre was going to hell,

and we had to leave. Still one of my favourite movies to this day. Always think about her when I watch it.
