When I was in eighth grade, my keyboarding teacher, the first day of class told me that I would fail, not because of any merit of my own, but because my father was her student in class when he was in school.

And that was the reason?

Wrong.

8th grade, so 10, 13, something like that? Damn. So your something like that.

So your father made that big of an impression that a whole generation later.

Typically it's a sibling not the parent as far as just the chances of that happening.

My brother made things good for me because he was a real good student and every time I had a

teacher that he had, they'd make it a point, the exact opposite conversation with me that

they had with you.
