In caring for a parent with Alzheimer's, Holly Elif says pouring your heart out to God is very

0:05.9

important. Sometimes the hardest thing is to get really honest with the Lord, but not stay there,

0:15.4

so that you open the door to him and say, I am dying here. I mean, this is so hard, I cannot do it. But then you open

0:24.3

the door to the Lord and say, what do I need? What are you going to do? Because we have promises from him.

Well, all this month on Revive Our Hearts, we've been exploring some of the different areas of life

1:23.8

disabled husband. And we listened to Aaron Davis, a mom whose sons were diagnosed

1:29.2

with serious bladder and kidney problems before they were even born, and how she had to surrender

1:34.3

to God's will for those boys, regardless of what that might look like. And then last week, we heard

1:40.1

the moving story of Carrie Tittle, who suddenly lost her husband and two daughters in a catastrophic

1:46.2

tornado. Like Job, she's learning to say, the Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the

1:54.6

name of the Lord. Wow. Well, each one is a unique situation with its own particular kind of suffering.

But these women all have one thing in common. They all have to determine, am I going to shake my

2:07.9

fist in God's face while I protest and stay angry at my circumstances? Or am I going to trust

2:14.9

that God is good and he knows what he's up to?
