Hello, my friends and welcome back to the morning mindset. Hope you are ready to get your

0:07.8

mind aligned with the truth of God. If you're new to the morning mindset, welcome. I'm so

0:12.5

thankful you're here. Today we are diving into the book of Proverbs chapter 10 verses

0:17.7

19 through 21. All of these verses talk about the messages that we are communicating through

0:25.8

our words. In speaking of messages, we have merchandise for the morning mindset. If you're

interested in having t-shirts or stickers or things like that, you can find it at carrygreen.com-murch.com.

Merch that's C-A-R-E-Y green, just like the color.com-murch-M-E-R-C-H. All right, let's move forward

1:18.2

verses are themed around the idea of what comes about when we speak. Looking at it from the beginning

1:26.5

in verse 19, he says, When words are many transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips

1:35.1

is prudent. The transgression is another word for sin. It means transgressing against God's law

1:41.8

or doing the opposite of God's law. And so he says, When words are many, lots of sin comes about.

1:48.8

Now, think about that for a moment. I think what he's meaning is the more you talk, the more

1:55.4

opportunity you have to twist your words to make yourself look good and others look bad,

2:02.4

or to shade the truth. So you hide something where you feel guilty or that others might criticize.

2:09.0

You see, the more we speak, the more opportunity sin has to get in and to corrupt the interaction

2:16.8

that we're having with that other person. And he says, But whoever restrains his lips is prudent.

2:24.0

Prudent is just another word for being wise. So he's saying, We really should be talking a lot less

2:30.7

than we are. We really should be people who as wise people are listening and are observing and
