Hi, everyone. Drew Pro here. I have a fun solo episode for you today about some things that I've

0:04.5

been paying attention to starting off with something that's been making the headlines in the last

0:10.0

few weeks that's been getting all the attention. And if you just believe the headlines and you did

0:16.0

what they said, which was avoid all protein powders, it could harm your health. What am I talking about?

0:23.0

I'm talking about five things you need to know about a viral report that talked about

0:28.3

heavy metals in our protein powders. And the reason I'm talking about this is because if you've

0:34.4

been paying attention to this podcast for the last two, three, four years,

0:37.8

we've been on, like so many people, the protein train.

0:41.3

Understanding that protein, as our friend Dr. Gabriel Alliance says, is the fuel for muscle.

0:47.3

And muscle is the building blocks of longevity.

0:51.9

And it's the protective aspect of our entire body, our bones. It's a metabolic sink.

0:57.5

It burns glucose. When we have adequate muscle, we age better. And a big part of that is making

1:03.5

sure we have appropriate amounts of protein in our diet. And one way that people have done that,

1:08.5

including myself, over the past few years, is they've added in some supplemental protein.

1:13.2

Because many people, including myself, I realized I just wasn't consuming enough for the goals that I had when it came to my longevity, my muscle mass, etc.

1:22.6

And many of you are in that same boat.

1:24.8

So when you came across the same headline that I came across, which was protein powders and shakes

1:29.5

contain high levels of lead, I'm sure you scratched your head and we're wondering, hey, is this

1:35.3

true and do I need to start avoiding protein powder?

1:38.6

I don't want any heavy metals in my body or any excessive amount of heavy metals.

1:42.5

So, you know, the truth is this.

2:01.6

Most people, they see these headlines and they walk away and they're just like, oh, you should be careful of protein and having too much protein because you may get higher levels of lead. But if we don't dig into the actual report, push back a little bit, understand what it's talking about, what it's not talking about, we will end up in a position where we'll have fear around something that could greatly benefit us. So I'm sure you saw it, but consumer reports dropped
