Wally, as a parent of an only child that has moved out of the home and started her own career. I would consider you and your wife

empty nesters. But have you ever felt offended by that term, someone calling you an empty nester?

No, why would I? It's like, oh, it's that's what the term is. Your

children have flown the nest and they're gloriously living on their own. You have more

disposable income and less headaches. So why would I take offense to that?

Well, a writer for a news and political website

is offended.

Of course.

She recently wrote a whole article about how

empty nester is a term that should be canceled
