Before I was a life coach I worked in the tech industry for over a decade and it was

advertising tech also known as ad tech and what that meant essentially

was the you know the pre-roll ads that you see before you see any video content

online sometimes mid-roll, sometimes post-roll.

There's kind of 15-second videos that annoy you,

but you see an ad for Toyota or for American Express.

I used to sell the technology that programmatically made those ads appear.

But I want to tell you something that that career taught me and it's not something that I think most other people paid attention to.

You probably already realized that ad targeting is so specific.

I used to say that we had scalpel like precision in reaching the right audiences

with the right ads at the right time within the right content.

Meaning just say you are looking up engagement rings.

Just say you put that into a search engine

or you are looking at the website of a jeweller.

Then you notice that ads follow you around don't

they'll start seeing Tiffany's ads, Cartier ads, maybe some discount you know

diamond website somewhere. You'll notice that they follow you. Am I right? You probably notice this just because you think,

gosh, the internet's stalking me. Someone's, you know, really in my head.

And it's just simple, you know, cookie-based targeting retargeting refollowing you wherever you go because
